We Do Recover is a two act play written by Markkus Garvey-Trew. It tells the story of Emma, a girl with a troubled past who needs to face up to life and her addiction. She meets Ryan in treatment but, when they begin a relationship that threatens their recovery, they're both confronted with the serious consequences.
Blue Sky is proud to have produced the premier of We Do Recover. We worked with Markkus to bring the script to its final draft. Rehearsals developed over the course of a year with a talented cast, many in recovery.
The play was first performed on 12th September 2015 in Weston-super-Mare as part of the Broadway Lodge reunion. The performance was watched by a wonderful audience, many of whom spoke afterwards about their identification with the themes of the play.
As part of the North Somerset Recovery Network Recovery Month in September, We Do Recover was performed in The Blakehay, Weston-super-Mare on 19th September.
